Start with current customer drawings, alloy specifications, tolerances, surface requirements, traceability and inspection expectations. Do not assume one specification applies to every foundry.
Map requirements to melting, moulding, core making, pouring and cleaning. Define the responsibilities of the equipment supplier, foundry and testing body.
Agree test conditions, materials, performance measures, records and non-conformance handling. Factory acceptance, site acceptance and end-customer product approval are separate processes.
Prepare the required material documents, calibration, maintenance, training and test records. Buying machinery alone does not establish a quality system or secure customer approval.
